I had planned to rail against Van Hollen, yet again, for the Election Day post. But, when I sat down, I pounded out the bulk of the rant James delivers in “American Musings,” then drunkenly wrote around that. I haven’t looked back on it, so I have no idea if it even makes sense.

My weekends are somewhat intolerably consumed by a seasonal second job. I’ve had the job for 20 years now because, despite my incessant belly-aching, it’s very lucrative. It just makes me about $21 an hour, but I’ve set up a complicated system of larceny and kickbacks that would make the shiftiest unethical M.D. proud.
I was thinking the other night about the women who turned me on as I entered those fragile years where I discovered that… You know, things felt good. I can only speak in euphemisms “above the fold” or else my day job will block access to the website. And… cue the “more” tag.
Last weekend was long and exciting. One of those journey of discovery weekends where I hit upon life changing revelations such as: “I’m not able to stay up till 5am three nights in a row and drink two bottles of scotch each day.”
I’ve completely failed at my Two Novels and a Baby project. It had me depressed for a few weeks… But then that feeling passed largely thanks to the main reason I haven’t been able to focus on writing a novel – I work six motherfucking jobs. I have just enough energy to pause outside the […]
