Resolutions Revisited

If you’ve become used to frequent updates on GS (the five people who read this), then be prepared for me to start dropping out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  That’s when I plan to start regular updates at my other blog.  Though, so far, I’ve had plenty of inspiration for both sites.

I know I haven’t cared much in the past (what, with a one year hiatus), but regular updates are all part of my resolution for 2008.  Well, I had many resolutions, all cooked up while flying a couch in Tunbridge Wells over Christmas.  Part of those late night UK thoughts centered around getting back on the old writing horse, because it’s really fun spending months and months on a novel and then hating it and throwing it away.  Yeah, that’s how I want to pass my time.

Though writing, for me, is also a bit about exorcising demons.  Even when I quit GS in favor of freaking out with nerve pain, family matters, and starting a business, I was still writing weird ass shit on cocktail napkins.

I planned everything to take place in several stages.  The first was to get GS up to speed, because it’s actually quite fun to update the front page with my latest thoughts on shoelaces.  The next stage was to begin somewhat regular updates at the other blog.  Then, finally, I would move back into constructive personal writing. Maybe start another novel, or hire a PI and write a book about my idiot father.  I don’t know.  Given that it’s taken me eight months to get to stage two, I think I have plenty of time to figure out the next step.  I’m having trouble with the other blog, anyway, because I feel like I should be more professional over there.  I can’t post an entry that starts with vodka and ends with mushroom cultivation at a commune in North Dakota.

Or maybe I can.  We’ll see if I lose my mind enough over the next few weeks to just turn the other blog into Little GS.

So, today, I’m working on a post for that blog.  There are meetings here at work all day, and bored co-workers looking to derail me, and my grandfather is coming into town and demanding entertainment, so we’ll see…  My current plan is to sit in a bathroom stall for an hour or two with a notepad and my laptop.
