Well, I\u2019m far too brain-dead to write a coherent update today, but I sort of feel that I should\u2026 It\u2019s the end of the year!\u00a0 Greatsociety in 2008 has been an entirely new beast.\u00a0 I\u2019ve resurrected the horror that is The Boble<\/a>, dug up useless shit<\/a> that should have been deleted long ago, forced my good friend Cassander to write again <\/a>after four years of crippling depression and sex addiction. and actually managed to maintain a sort of regular writing schedule of my own.<\/p>\n

Last year at this time, I\u2026\u00a0 Well, I was very drunk.\u00a0 But I had my list of resolutions, one of which was to make GS a more active home for my whining.\u00a0 Uh\u2026writing, I mean.\u00a0 I try to set a low bar for my resolutions.\u00a0 For example, my resolutions for 2009 are:\u00a0 Eat more fruit, try not to die, drink more rum, and watch The Wire<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Breathing new life into GS was, actually, an ambitious resolution.\u00a0 I needed to clear out all of the mental cobwebs from 2007.\u00a0 I had Tyson Tate do up this bare bones front page, archived all the old shit, and went with the surprisingly smooth and easy WordPress software so I wouldn\u2019t have to think and do computer stuff come time to post.\u00a0 Which is why 90% of everything you\u2019ve read this year was written while under the influence of something.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d say we\u2019ve done well this year.\u00a0 Of course, my snooping bosses from my two primary jobs are offended by GS and, in the end, I\u2019m sure this site will make me unemployed and homeless.\u00a0 But I secretly think that will be a relief.\u00a0 As soon as it happens, I\u2019m moving to some sad Third World country and ditching all of my debts.\u00a0 Let Chase Manhattan try and find me at that drug-runner village from Romancing the Stone<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Except it won\u2019t be rewarding in any way when I finally do reach this metaphorical summit.\u00a0 All it means is that I\u2019ve wasted hundreds of hours of my life.\u00a0 But, hey, I can say the same about most of my past relationships.\u00a0 Those fucking bitches have nothing on Commander Riker, my new true love!<\/p>\n
