{"id":1557,"date":"2010-11-08T09:10:12","date_gmt":"2010-11-08T14:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greatsociety.org\/?p=1557"},"modified":"2018-10-30T16:40:40","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T20:40:40","slug":"project-mondays-scorecard-week-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatsociety.org\/?p=1557","title":{"rendered":"Project Mondays Scorecard: Week Two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had planned to rail against Van Hollen, yet again, for the Election Day post.\u00a0 But, when I sat down, I pounded out the bulk of the rant James delivers in \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatsociety.org\/?p=1548\" target=\"_blank\">American Musings<\/a>,\u201d then drunkenly wrote around that.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t looked back on it, so I have no idea if it even makes sense.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Since this whole project is sort of a flash fiction thing\u2026or something\u2026I figure one tactic to avoid dragging me down is to never look back.\u00a0 Throw it out and see what flies\u2026 Worry about editing later when I sort everything out and see if a printed series of vignettes are possible. To remind you &#8212; what I&#8217;m doing is spending an hour or two each Monday and just vomiting out the week&#8217;s worth of articles. Because I like being crazy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatsociety.org\/?p=1552\" target=\"_blank\">Open Hearts<\/a> on Wednesday almost got pulled.\u00a0 What gets me in the most trouble as \u201cNacho Sasha\u201d is when I blur the lines.\u00a0 I think there\u2019s a large group of my friends who think of me more as Nacho than my real life persona.\u00a0 I also think there\u2019s a disturbing number of relationships I\u2019ve had where the girls were first attracted to Nacho, then disappointed to discover a very different person in real life.<\/p>\n<p>In writing (or whatever it is I\u2019m doing on GS), having a persona \u2013 creating it, maintaining it \u2013 is more of a tool.\u00a0 A theatrical formula for putting rants together that borrows from the imagination as well as experiences.
