All of the managers are out today, so I\u2019ve carefully put together a list of things to do:<\/p>\n
1) Update GS (which I\u2019ve been lazy about doing for awhile) I\u2019ve been bad at work recently.\u00a0 I hung up on a veteran the other day, and I feel vaguely guilty about it.\u00a0 He wanted free, electronic copies of our books.\u00a0 I told him that we can\u2019t do that, and he replied that we could, because he was a veteran.<\/p>\n \u201cI fought for your freedom!\u00a0 Now I\u2019m crippled and it hurts my hands to read a book!\u00a0 I want them electronically on my computer, and you owe it to me to do so!\u201d<\/p>\n I told him, nope, can\u2019t.<\/p>\n He replied, “When you say \u2018can\u2019t\u2019, do you know what you sound like?\u00a0 You sound like –”<\/p>\n And that\u2019s when I hung up on him.\u00a0 What the fuck?\u00a0 Go to a fucking library.\u00a0 Have your California homosexual live-in pool boy read it to you, mister fucking entitlement.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t ask you to fight for me.\u00a0 I don\u2019t even believe we\u2019re really free.\u00a0 We\u2019re living the Nazi ideal.\u00a0 We defeated a tyranny just to install our own ultra-capitalist tyranny.\u00a0 Hell, at least the Nazi\u2019s had a drop of socialism.<\/p>\n And I\u2019m certainly not responsible for you taking a bullet, asshole.\u00a0 Should have hunkered down behind those sandbags, sunshine.<\/p>\n Anyway, I thought only poor black people fought in wars.\u00a0 And my grandfather.\u00a0 But all those World War II people are crazy.\u00a0 When they go on about being vets, I\u2019m a bit more respectful.\u00a0 Because they charged at Panzers wearing nothing but cotton shirts.\u00a0 Not even ale-drunk Saxon warriors did that sort of nonsense.<\/p>\n Where was I?\u00a0 Oh, yes.\u00a0 The lazy update.\u00a0 Which is what this is.\u00a0 Then I\u2019ll do about 10 minutes of work to clear the decks and load up CBS.com for some hot Richard Dean Anderson mullet action!<\/p>\n Everyone hum the MacGyver<\/span> theme song with me!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" All of the managers are out today, so I\u2019ve carefully put together a list of things to do: 1) Update GS (which I\u2019ve been lazy about doing for awhile) 2) Watch three episodes of MacGyver (I\u2019ll finish season three today!) …<\/p>\n
