So...they announced Simcity 5. And they're calling it a "reboot" of the series. And...well... Just look at it:

So they made this game always-on DRM. You're playing it in the cloud and can't play it offline. Basically some sort of passive version of a MMOG.

Looks like it's already been cracked so you can play it "single player," but then your tiny city is an island and can't interact with the region.

How sad!

Oh my god. That's actually quite shocking. What a disaster this release has been... I've followed it on SA. So...you have to be online to play the game, and connected to the Maxis servers, and then they get some cut rate server and everyone has to wait two hours to play the game.

Yeah, I heard about that launch day server problem - this always on DRM is bullshit.

If you pay for content you should be able to consume it as you wish.
