Now, I'm working on cleaning up the cities from the Most Wanted criminals and unlocking the special abilities of my "friends" in the game.

I've just started playing it, but man this game is freaking awesome!  Highly addictive.

When you fall off the Empire State Building, the wind rustles past your ears as you fall to your death. It's kind of hard, but you try to aim for cars.

I'm stuck on the mission "Snow Storm".  Does anyone know a good way to beat this.  I always get stuck trying to evade the cops.  I have both driven away and tried to take a boat.  The walkthrough says to jump in the water and take a boat, but there isn't one unless I put it there and then the cops just chase me in there boats when the walkthrough says that there won't be any.  Any suggestions?

^^^ this is the reason I've sold every GTA game I've ever owned... I inevitably get to a mission I can't pass and the game comes to a grinding halt.

I just ran like a motherfucker and drove away. Make sure you have as much possible health and armor before you start running; don't be afraid to blow away some cops along the way because you'll already be at 4 stars, I believe, so killing a few more won't matter. Run and gun your way to a car, then change up as necessary. If you can get a nice sports car, all the better. I actually believed I use a Pay N Spray for that mission, the one on Manhattan Island.

I'm up to the last mission (which is pretty tough, to be honest) and I didn't touch a single cheat code in my entire runthrough.

huh... not bad.  I've had to cheat like a motherfucker on every GTA game I've ever had, and sometimes even cheating doesn't help.

[Matt]

I've never thought any part of GTA was too hard; occasional missions might take a little longer to do but on the whole most of the things have been pretty fun, and I didn't touch a single walkthrough until I got to the final mission and I just didn't get what the fuck I was doing wrong.

I finally beat that mission last night.  I scouted out my escape route first and used the GTO type car to get away.
