Local Dist 20 -- Brown Haired Girl #3974
« on: September 08, 2006, 02:18:43 PM »
On the way to the metro today I was attacked by the very cute (in a housewifey sort of way) Lucinda Lessley (http://lucindalessley.com/).  She photographs poorly, it seems, because she was way cuter than what shows up on her webpage.

She's pro Purple Line (I'm voting the Purple Line ticket on Primary day -- Fajwat, I have a list of pro-mass transit candidates, if you want it) and on board with other good stuff...and things...and stuff.

I am running for the Maryland General Assembly from District 20 to fight for the issues that are of greatest concern to our community, including the continued development of a balanced transportation network, the expansion of affordable housing opportunities, the preservation of our natural resources, and the continuation of investments in our public school system. I strongly believe that our government of the people must be responsible to the citizens of Maryland – and not to special interests.

All the chicks like her, the Green Democrats, and our boy Ewing (who once helped me clean up at my weekend job, which involved stealing booze).  So that takes care of District 20.

She's up against Ida Rubin, who'll win.  Franchot and Hixon...who'll both win.  So there's just that fourth slot, which is led by big people -- Murray (who has it now and is dead weight), Hucker (Mr. Progressive, snore), Klein (endorsed by the Godhead Sarbanes), Mizeur (of the old Kerry 04 team).  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/metro/elections/2006/maryland/Maryland_State_House_District_20.html

She's damned.  But... I just contributed to her campaign because she made sense this morning.

Ha ha! Hilarious.

Actually, she seems like a good, decent, and level-headed candidate.

And, yes, she is easy on the eyes. Which is a god-send in these dirty flabby saggy nasty old-man times in politics.

The pictures make her look too big.  She was really small in person:

Q&A with the Gazette --

She's a bit wobbly on the illegals question, but that's kind of a silly question to ask.

what part of her answers were wobbly?  The driving license answer was a common one, and the tuition issue made sense, pending my understanding how it's currently run.  I suspect that implementing it would bring up at least a few conflicts with reality -- home schooled children, GEDs, residents who didn't graduate here, non-residents who did.  But that's the sorta vague answer I expect politicians to use -- it's more of a sketch of an improvement, probably meant to be grafted onto the current system.  Her delivery didn't sound wobbly, either.

She lost!  I feel like emailing her an apology.  Wear a lower cut blouse next time, darling.

She's smart and level-headed. Of course she lost. She has to be a slobbering, screaming Bible-thumper to win.
