And do soccer moms battle it out at the grocery store buying bread (perishable) milk (perishable) and toilet paper (non-consumable) in preparation for being snowed in for weeks on end?

We modern citizens have these things called "freezers."

We modern citizens have these things called "freezers."

So short term emergency supplies should be dependent on guaranteed electricity because they're all highly perishable?

How about canned food and water?  Dry goods?

Things that don't require a billion kilowatts shot in from 1972-era power lines that are supporting 12 snow and ice-laden dead trees, all drawing power from transformers that Pepco has pieced together from bubblegum wrappers?

I hear you, but it's a snow storm. Why don't you just put the milk and bread (and beer) out in the snow?

Deer.

Under the porch. You know that Jody's got three toddlers under the porch ready to thaw at a moments notice.

Or, just get out your shotgun. Cold food and entertainment.

You're mocking the deer.  Don't mock the deer.  It's like mocking Triffids.  Next thing you know, zuuu-thwack.

My gfather hauled out our snow blower (yes, I know) so I'll have to take pictures of that.  He usually parks it so it blocks the front door, covered in an ancient shower curtain, spikes and sharp edges everywhere.

Like the Dead Reckoning from Land of the Dead?

And from Land of the Dead II -- Dead Heat!  Starring Bruce Campbell as Admiral Alfonzo Winterborne and Angelina Jolie as Dead Queen with Stanley Tucci as Captain Mercedes and Oliver Platt as Bill.

I have a touch of vertigo, so I can't get close enough to APA's Lover's Leap.

I think we've had this conversation on the forums before, but if I was going to off myself, jumping is not the method I would choose.
