Wait, was Nemesis our last TNG outing? Was Data killed? Where can I get the “when last we saw Picard” catch up?

Like, four posts up when you asked the question after the first trailer! LOL.

Data was killed at the end of Nemesis.

And Picard has gone full Sam Neill and is bottling wine.

He was in All Good Things, as well. (By the way -- the future scenes in All Good Things were set at roughly the same time as ST:P. And though that was only a possible future shown by Q, it's interesting that ST:P is mirroring that possible future.)

Wait, so Nemesis is the last thing we got in the timeline, yes?

Nope -- the destruction of Romulus is the last moment of the original timeline. That happened around 8-10 years after Nemesis. This takes place ten years after that, which means that Starfleet, in this ongoing prime timeline, is essentially the only remaining superpower in the galaxy -- the Romulan empire has been shattered, the Dominion are bottled up, the Borg are crippled, and the results of the Dominion War have no doubt led to the creation of a highly militarized "never again" Starfleet.

Oh, good... The Temporal Cold War from Enterprise is back. Good job, lazy Discovery writers. (I wonder if they even bother with writers...)

Wait, what?

Here's the debate rabbit hole (which shoots down the future Spock helping young Spock theory): https://redshirtsalwaysdie.com/2019/02/22/star-trek-discoverys-red-angel-not-spock/

Wait, Quinto?

Future Spock is Nimoy! Except he's the "Red Angel" because they couldn't dig up Nimoy's grave and pose him for the camera.
