Well... there's something I never thought I'd do.  Voted straight Libertarian and then wrote my name in on any elections where people were running as unopposed incumbents.  God bless America.

For the record -- I am a huge fan of the "vote against the incumbent" idea. I always follow a version of that -- voting against the "continuation of office" elected civil servant fucks.

Just went to my polling place.  The line just to get a voting card was an hour, then there was another half hour line to get to the machines.  Plus the school my polling place is in is also in session, so there are a bunch of kids running around and uppity white women going, "I wouldn't want MY CHILD'S school full of the general population!  This is outrageous!"  Fucking Roswell.

So yeah, I didn't vote.  I'm not waiting in line to negate Republican votes, so I will go back later in the afternoon hoping it won't be so bad. 

I also feel like mentioning that I have paid virtually no attention to this election cycle whatsoever.  I have read up on the Georgia amendments that are up for debate, so I know how I'm voting there, but beyond that I am taking my father's approach to the election (he is registered to vote for the first time in over 20 years).  He is simply going to vote against all the incumbents, which I think is a pretty decent statement.  I talked to him on the phone a few weeks ago and he said, "Well... looks like I'm a Democrat this year."  I didn't have the heart to tell him that if he stays in Tennessee for the rest of his life and takes the same approach every election cycle, then he's probably going to perpetually be a Dem.

That said... I think the Dems are about to have their asses handed to them... probably even more than they were in '94.

"Democrats brace for heavy losses" is today's headline... And, at my polling station at 8am, I was all alone.  Which is a first for me... It was weird.
