Title: Horror Websites
Post by: RottingCorpse on February 28, 2006, 03:38:31 PM
So, I'm getting ready to do a major internet media blitz as we shift into Phase Two of film pre-production. I was wondering if I could get some help from the GS crew at large.

If you run across any Horror websites, throw the URL in this thread, so I can be sure to get them info.

Thanks folks. Here's a list of some I have:

I also suggest that you contact him.  Why not?  I've taken that approach with Moody Food -- just spam authors.  Maybe they'll say something, maybe not.  In both cases, there's nothing to lose.  In your case, though, you have even more to gain than a blurb.

You're right. And to getJoe-Bob's blessing . . . Gah!

This is going to be a big internet meadia sweep. I'll send out a press release announcing both First Session's availaibility for FREE download, as well as the official launch of thw Women's Studies website with the teaser trailer. Horro sites really dig that kind of grass roots thing.

Oh, and don't worry about getting his blessing, you can book him.  You know, like, for the opening of a film at the Avalon in DC.  Special guest:  Joe Bob Briggs.

Or even, say, offer a bit part.  Perhaps as a senator on the rise to the presidency in the final scene of a movie.

Te bit part idea is a stroke of brilliance, and of course, we're still looking for a former scream queen to possibly play a small role.

Eileen Daly....mmm.m.m...mm.jhm.

Give Jake West a shout!  His girls from Evil Aliens are all unknowns, except for Emily Booth.  And Eileen's been floundering lately.

I'd pay you 10K if you got Jodie Shaw:

She's the gun toting (and lawn edger toting) porn starlet in Evil Aliens.

Just did a search for all the great 80's girls and they're all working hard.

She doesn't excatly look like a Senator.

I'd vote for her.

I'm shocked that Linnea Quigley has so much recent work out there.  There are no out of work scream queens, in fact.  I suppose we can thank the rise of nudie cinema for that.  All the uber-goddess queens from the 80's and 90's are plasticized and reborn, and all the aging natural queens are thrown low rent roles out of respect.

It's the Misty Mundae Effect!  Scream queens and nudie girls are legit!

It's a metter of getting the right role to the right actor. Remember, for one or two days of work, they're getting what's almost a year's salary for guys like us.

Look at people like Felissa Rose or Adrienne Barbeau. They're all over the low budget horror.

Felissa Rose

That poor dear is cranking out four flicks a year.  Barbeau's the name recognition, though.  She's got a bigger name than Blair.

Barbeau is also a bit more choosy about the indies she does. Comes with being John Carpenter's wife.  And she's pricier.

Blair isn't really a consideration anymore.

Also, we need to be really careful about this thread. The last thing I need is some wanker going off and saying "I read on some forum that Felissa Rose, Adrienne Barbeau, and Linda Blair are doing this weird feminist horror indy!" and then I'm known as the sleazeball who lies about who's in his film.

And, did I hear wrong, you have cast Eliza Dushku in the primary role, right?

Women's Studies now has one horror website supporting us, so I want to encourage everybody to support them. And hey, it's a site dedicated to women in horror films, so how hard can it be?

Fans of low budget video scream queens like Brinke Stevens should be in hog heaven.
