what scares me is that both you and Tyson saw the preview for Saved! and thought it would be worth two hours.

I was talked in to watching it by that one Mega-Christian girl who leg me around by the balls for months then told me she wouldn't date me because I wasn't a Christian.

I liked it because it makes fun of Christians. I'm all for that shit.

Butterfly Effect is complete garbage... stick to slapstick, Kutcher.  You're the next Keanu Reeves in the making... you're ridiculous name should tell everyone as much.

What a shame...it got good reviews.  See, now I'll just toss it back in the mail because of you!

Human Stain! I forgot about that movie too.  is out now?  probably going to have to rent that one when all the roommates are out of the house.

argh! three way tie!

right now i'm leaning towards Velvet Goldmine, mostly because it's taking up space on my Tivo.  but also because of you and your dress-up days, nacho, honestly.  i think it's sweet.

Well hey... I say that, but I sat through it so it's not, like, completely unbearable.  It's just bad is all... a good, mindless 2 hour movie, which is sometimes just what the doctor ordered.

I'm suddenly not in the mood for Human Stain.  But I have to mail it back in the morning or else I screw up my Netflix groove... And it won't copy because it looks like half of America has chewed on the disc!  What do I do?!

Do I crawl into bed with vodka and watch Witchhunter Robin till I fall asleep?  Or Human Stain till Kidman gets naked?

If you want to see a good, under the radar Kidman movie, go rent Dogville.  It's long and some find it too boring to make it all the way through, but man... if you do it pays off BIG.  Think Stephen King meets the play Our Town.  Fucking awesome flick.

i should also take this opportunity to point out, and Nacho will back me up here, that anyone who hasn't seen Rules of Attraction yet needs to FUCKING BREAK INTO BLOCKBUSTER RIGHT NOW.

yes, there are WB stars in it.  but they are trying to ruin their saccharine reputations, and for the most part, it works.  plus Eric Stoltz.  plus Bret Easton Ellis wrote the book.  plus kicking soundtrack.  plus one of the most beautiful split screen scenes ever.  plus machetes.

GO!

maybe i'll watch that instead.

Ok. I'm going to work on my English midterm essay a bit then grab some trash food and watch a movie. I need a fucking break.

Which movie should I watch?

The Godfather
or
Apocalypse Now Redux

EDIT: My midterm thesis, for your laughter:

Quote
Gangs: Hope and Belonging
In “The Blackstone Rangers,” Gwendolyn Brooks asserts that blacks who join street gangs join them because the leaders of those gangs offer visions of hope—of hope for a brighter future—that is hard to come by for those living in desperately poor ghettos. Brooks uses the relationships between the leaders of the Chicago street gang “The Blackstone Rangers” and the girls who associated themselves with the gang, the “Rangerettes”, to show that youths who took part in the gang did so for the sense of belonging to something with hope of a brighter future that they got from belonging to the gang.
