Listen, I might not have the best taste in movies in the world, but those Kenneth Branagh / Hercules Poirot movies (Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile) are gorgeous, old school whodunits that are a fine way to blow two hours. Old fashioned slow-burn pacing? For sure. Melodramatic? Absolutely. But I was wrong on guessing the killers of both movies.
Also, Branagh the director doesn't get nearly enough credit as Branagh the actor. He really does a fantastic job of acclimating you in space / environment. Like you know where characters are going to /moving through as they go from place to place.
Anyway, I'm super stoked for Haunting in Venice in a few weeks.
