I've had general unease about all the AI generated creative content since I started seeing people post their "art" incessantly on FB middle of last year.
As someone who makes a living freelance writing and providing marketing strategy to companies, it's only a matter of time before my job becomes obsolete. I mean... it's not like I'm writing groundbreaking stuff or anything like that. Mostly headlines, SEO optimized stuff, etc. And often times, I'm just the starting point for these campaigns. So they'll have a meeting with me, talk about what they need to sell and basically mine my brain for ideas on content. I give them a bunch of options, maybe tweak them once or twice, then they take what I've made and workshop it in groups or with the client's creative teams to build the final campaigns. But if these agencies I work with can take a creative brief and stick it into an AI program vs. paying me, they absolutely will... particularly when most of the time I'm just giving them ideas they can evolve.
I'm kind of amazed/horrified by the speed of the evolution of quality in the AI content as well. I don't think it really bodes well for the evolution of our brains in the long run. If humans can take the easy route, they almost always will, regardless of the detriment it has on their brains. Case in point... phone numbers. Just think back to how many phone numbers you used to know by heart as a kid... I probably knew at least 20 of my friends/family members, if not more. Now I'd be hard pressed to even tell you my wife's phone number most days without glancing at my phone.
I also wonder how long it will take FB/Google/Musk to snap up these platforms for a billion or two and then work them into their socials. Fucking scary... and, as usual, no one's sounding the alarm... or if they are, they're being ignored because folks are too busy whipping up AI generated photos of Billie Eilish in latex lingerie.
