One reason why I don't go. Shocked it took this long for this to happen. Overall, shocked that we aren't getting hit as hard as we could be. Every single time I ride the Metro I think: Today's the day. Largely because the illusion of safety we wrap everything in really is just an illusion. The day ISIS and domestic crazies figure that out, they could tear us to pieces.

My takeaway is that the fact that this has not been happening routinely is actually an argument for the inner grace of Mankind.

I don't think I can argue with that. I've always wondered why more of crazy truck attacks on open air markets and suicide bombers in malls don't happen.

I think it's really hard to talk someone into killing themselves on behalf of a cause. And really hard to give them equipment to do so in a way that causes more than a couple deaths (trucks into markets notwithstanding).
