I'm really looking forward to getting this one in me. I'm all about the Lesser Olsen.

She's the greater Olson now, isn't she?

I keep waiting for WandaVision to let me down, but so far is hasn't. I have found the whole SWORD/Marvel status quo horseshit to be "meh." That said, last night's episode explained why all the old TV shows and it was heartbreakingly good. It's all leading the big superhero fight kablooie for next episode's finale, but this show is far better than it has any right to be.

I sort of gave up. We're only halfway through and bored. And I was only ever watching to fulfill my painful and all-consuming Elizabeth Olsen obsession anyway.

You gave up before she put on the red leotard and lumpy 70s girl pink tights?

If I have to ask myself if they stuck the landing on WandaVision, it probably means they didnít, huh?

No spoilers, but Marvelís gonna Marvel.

EDIT:
I've slept on it a couple days and decided I do rather like the ending. If you haven't watched it yet, make sure to watch the last two episodes (8 & 9) back-to-back. I think part of my experience of the ending was a little strange because of the hiccup by waiting a week.

The new Captain America in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a god damned sociopath and his decent into psychotic fuckery is alone worth the price of admission.

The rest of the show isn't bad. Bonus points for bringing back Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo who steals every scene he's in.

The first episode of Loki had to so deeply explain its stupid timeline/ alternate reality rules that it left me no room to give a shit about whatever story it had to tell. Marvel's buy-in to this whole multiverse concept is going to Terminator their shit up, I fear.

The second episode isn't much of an improvement. This show is in love with it's own convoluted time travel logic that doesn't make sense and if you think about it too hard negates everything that came in all the movies beforehand.

But even without that shit, this show should be "Quantum Leap," not "lessons in not-thought-out multiverses." The only good parts are when Loki is DB Cooper or at Pompeii, but that's like 5 seconds of each hour-long episode.

Such a messy missed opportunity.

So many of these streaming-only-versions-of-major-franchises are messy missed opportunities. Discovery only got good in the last season and only because they warped 500 years into the future and completely removed themselves from anything to do with the franchise.

Episode 3 of Loki finally shut the fuck up about its stupid time travel logic and told me a story. Not a blindingly original story. Maybe not even a good story. But I found myself being manipulated by Tom Hiddleston's charm (and the Swedish actress laying Lady Loki... or whoever she is) the way I should have been out of the gate.

It's still a missed opportunity.

I choked through for Huddleston. But, yeah. A waste.

After sleeping on the Loki finale, I've decided it sucks. Marvel continues to simply set up the next thing with no payoff.

We gave up after episode two. Modern streaming TV is really taking a downturn.
