The science team on scene posted a video today. It was probably a methane explosion (due to global warming, yadda yadda...).

So Netflix did a crime Scene Investigation four part special documentary on Elisa Lam (and the Hotel Cecil in general). It's a fascinating history of the hotel, and deep dives into Lam's life. The result is an interesting (and timely) expose on gentrification, depression, cyber-bullying, police failures, and superstition.

Well worth the watch. It is super creepy at first but, then, they actually piece together the facts and the "twist" ending sort of dispels the spookiness of the whole thing.
