Dave on FX / Hulu ... Season 2 started off a bit slow and uncomfortable, but it has taken off. Super funny and weird. I love it.

So I really enjoyed the adaptation of Y: The Last Man. They rushed a few things but, otherwise, were on track to have a great series.

So...FX cancelled it with three episodes still to air, citing that it was "too expensive." Um.... Huh?

The way they shot this is amazing, but when you kick in the sound that's what blows you away. We're in this bubble of car radios, the bike, brakes, rushing tired, horns, bullets... Incredible shit.

But the best show of 2022? I think it has to be Wednesday. Though I think it's the best simply because of the after-the-fact cultural phenomenon. It's one of those shows that was kind of quiet, then exploded into the memestream, and now that means season two is doomed because they'll never top the #wednesdaydance scene.

The Best Show of 2022 - on Apple TV+ - is without doubt Slow Horses, starring Gary Oldman and Kristen Scott Thomas, with Jonathan Pryce, and some other familiar faces.

It's just fantastic.

It was slow to begin with but Apple TV+ has several genuinely excellent shows now, most with at least a couple of seasons:

Slow Horses - Gary Oldman, Kristen Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce
The Shrink Next Door - Will Farrell and Paul Rudd
Mythic Quest - by Rob McIlhenney of Always Sunny
The Morning Show - Steve Carrell, Jennifer Anniston, Reese Whetherorwon'tsheSpoon
Severance - fucking dark and excellent, with Adam Scott, Christopher Walken, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette
BlackBird - Taron Egerton, Greg Kinnear, Ray Liotta

And there's plenty of others.

It let me down. Which is why just that one tiny season. I didn't even manage to finish that.
