I've also been avoiding Handmaid's Tale. I'm actually a bit intimidated by it. I feel like it'll be if I ignored GoT and then decided to start watching it and I'd be the one guy in the world who's like OMG!

Gomorrah is great. Also get Raised By Wolves in you.

I did that "Sons of Sam" four-parter doc on Netflix recently. Was a dip back into Manson-land I wasn't happy to go to, but that last scene of the series = *shudder*.

Halston - Ewan McGregor reminds us why he's such and amazing actor.

We're almost completely caught up on Handmaid's... one episode of season 3 left and then we'll have 8 in season 4 before we're waiting for a new one each week. I mean... I'm really blown away by this show. It's so freakin good. It's rare for my wife and I to find something we both like, so when we do we tend to burn through it quickly like we're doing here. I think the thing I like best about Handmaid, beyond just the apocalyptic parallels to what's going on in the real world today, is the fact that it totally keeps me guessing. Just about every time I've been sure I know where it's headed, it totally proves me wrong. Great show... can't recommend it enough.

Gomorrah 4 is out... and then it's not... but it's going to be again soon! I got my bro hooked on this show and he said that they fucked up the subtitles or something when it was released 5/20 and had to remove it to fix things. I suspect it will be out again soon (if it's not already). Once we get Handmaid done, we'll start on that.

I'm starting to watch more docs than fiction shit the same way I almost exclusively read non-fiction.

That Abstract show about different types of designers is pretty good. Really well done.

We do this too... mostly because docs are almost always something the wife and I can agree upon. We just started the HBO series about Patton Oswalt's wife and the Golden State Killer. 1 episode in and I'm definitely enjoying it... makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

Sometime in the last months of 2020 I hit my murderporn limit and now can't stand it. I'm almost exclusively fiction now. I don't know how anyone who's lived through the last 15 months can emotionally tolerate watching horrible shit.

Yeah… it is tough. We’ve still only watched one episode. I don’t know if we’ll finish… kinda emotionally draining. Good thing I’m dead inside.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is Tim Robinson's "I Think You Should Leave." Surreal sketch comedy. Some of the skits don't completely land, but man, the ones that do are clutch-your-stomach funny.

It's because of the ones that don't land that I struggle with this show. I feel they don't land more often than they do...so why bother struggling through for the few funny nuggets?

Probably. I actually think the "meh" ones outnumber the brilliant ones too. But a "Hot Dog Guy," "Baby of the Year," or "Sharing Nachos" skit is so worth it.

Okay, so I gave I Think You Should Leave a go. Season two is a vast improvement on season one. And I want Coffin Flop to be a real show.

I’ve only watched the first episode of season two, but it was virtually nothing but hits. The only dud was the underage muscleman bit which desperately wanted to build off Baby of the Year.
