Ron Paul is way too good, way too intelligent to ever be allowed to run for President. They'd have to drive his car back to that grassy knoll.

I've cut myself off from politics and the news to such a degree that I only know of Ron Paul by name and his early reputation... So I just spent half an hour getting re-acquainted with him. And he's terrifying.

Too good and too intelligent, Monkey? This guy's an isolationist, creationist  gun nut who supports a more aggressive Israel and has an economic plan better suited for the 1890's.

I'm sort of with monkey on Ron Paul though I also agree that many of his ideas are far too fringe to be accepted by mainstream America.

That said, He's message of how corrupt the system is resonates, and he's been saying it long before anybody else started the call.

You're going to have to qualify that statement because, otherwise, Ron Paul is 8,000 years old.

Quantification: Ron Paul has been talking about corporate corruption polluting the political system an the insustainability (Is that a word?) of the U.S. economic system long before any POLITICIAN campaigning for office started the call.

I'm not saying he's not a nut job. They're all nut jobs. Obama is a nutjob. Fucking Lincoln was a nutjob. You have to be a nutjob to lead this country. What I am saying is that Ron Paul's message resonates with a lot of people, especially on the surface which is as far as about 90% of American's look.

I like him. I think he brings interesting aspects to the conversation and directs it in a direction that we should be having it.
