IF there are classified documents about something that happened in 1947 they should be mostly if not completely declassified at this point. I mean what exactly could be in them that would do any harm to our national security at this time 54 years later?

We've mentioned the Mothman in other threads, and I nearly posted this in the Documentaries thread because it's the recent Eyes of the Mothman doc which inspired this post.

At two and a half hours long the doc is slightly long in the tooth. However it's a very thorough, measured, and surprisingly level-headed look at the entire history of the Mothman. The whole thing is really well done, starting off with the true story of Chief Cornstalk (and his curse), then explaining the history and environmental issues surrounding the TNT plant where many of the Mothman sightings are centered, and even offering alternative explanations besides cryptids and aliens.

The section on Woody Derenberger (late of Parkersburg, WV) and his meeting with the mysterious "man in black" Indrid Cold is a sphincter clinching horror movie sequence that alone is worth giving the doc a try.
