Well, I think maybe the point is, as Matt said, to wait.  A whole slew of these things are about to hit shelves... of course, if these imitations of Apple go the same way all the others have, then the iPad will still be the best on the market.

All those reasons to value it are reasons I will value it? Like I'm going to be using it next year to take readings with me as opposed to printing them off, and it'll allow me to cut down on how many books I buy by just downloading them illegally.

Plus getting someone like that allows me to go way cheaper on laptops in the future. Slightly better specs than my current laptop is like $400, uncustomized, through NewEgg, when I paid about a grand for this thing almost 3 years ago. Conceivably I could get a super low-end refurbed Macbook when I have to replace my laptop.
