DD, I've got to admit that your inability to use the quote function or even just copy and paste from one tab to the next absolutely infuriates me.  you may have plenty of time as an island-hopping cessna pilot and coke dealer, but the rest of us live in busy America.
You ain't a has been if you never was.

Have you been out of the country since 1860?

I decided to seek expatriation as soon as the Lewinsky saga broke, and a dozen years later I find myself prescient...half a world away from the 2000 presidential elections, 9/11...W....Katrina....

Though having a fellow dark-skinned "hyphenated American" with a "funny name" in charge (at least officially) for the first time, has made the notion of visiting on a regular basis more palatable.

Will they try to nail you the minute you step on native soil?

And is there a reward if I catch you first?!?!?!?

I actually flew in and out of the beehive a few months ago (JFK), and was treated better than at almost any other non-American airport I've passed through (and I've gone through hundreds).

But, after the Detroit debacle over Christmas time; the vibe in American airports is likely to be much less positive nowadays.
