Okay...apps for our smartphones!  What do you use?

For you iPhone types, Roadside America's new app has me salivating:

Though it costs, and it's just for the iPhone.  Fags.

For the Droid, I found this blog, which reviews new apps:

I have a movie one, Yelp, Where, a GPS one that allows me to put in Longitude and Latitude for geo-caching.  Pandora, and a few fun ones.  Like Sneaky Fart, the Schwartz Light Saber one, a recipes and the Geo Star Pointer.

Okay.  Explain geo-caching to me again.  I know what it is...but are you actually doing it?  What's the app called?  Just "Where"?  Then it tells you where you are and guides you to the secret spot?

The geo-caching thing isn't Where, that's like Yelp.  It's called Geo-pointer.  You enter in the long and lat of the "cache" and it directs you to it.  I haven't had a chance to try it out yet though.  Something for when the weather gets a little warmer.

Getting it now!  But then you have to know where the cache is, right?  How do you find that out?

There are a ton of online sites that give you coordinates.  You may have to join, I'm not sure.  I've tried to get a few and I don't know if it works or not since I'm inside.  But I entered in some coordinates and nothing happened.

My most used iPhone Apps include: Facebook, Twitter, Metro Paris (for line maps, route planners etc. for Paris underground) AP Mobile News, Bloomberg, Wikipanion, BBC News Reader, Wolfenstein 3D, Paris Bouge (for local events and nights out at Paris bars/clubs/restaurants/concert halls) and German/Swedish translators and language tutorials along with addictive games like DoodleJump and Solitaire.
There will come a day for every man when he will relish the prospect of eating his own shit. That day has yet to come for me.

Wolfenstein 3D

Glad I didn't get an iPhone, because I'd be playing this for 13 hours a day.

I also have a WW2 iFighter plane attack game which rocks in a Desert Storm-esque arcade way.

I got F.A.S.T., an flight fighter sim that's fun, for a buck on 4th of July Weekend... I got NYT, Hold'em Poker Lite, Urbanspoon (which is great when you're in a city), Bump, HuffPost, WildWest Pinball, Distant Stars (an astronomy app), Remote for my iTunes, PhoneFlicks for managing Netflix account, Flickr, IMDB... nothing terribly useful; most of the super-cool ones are expensive.

I don't use Pandora, I use the last.fm app because it's linked to my gay little profile.  The only thing I hate about Pandora is that most of the stations I've created are full of crap music and I wind up fast forwarding half the time.

I use Twidroid for Twitter, although not that much.  I have a hard time keeping up with Twitter, really... I guess you just have to be a certain kind of person.  I tried, but I just don't care most of the time.

Jewels is probably the best "free" game I've downloaded for the Droid with Abduction a close second.

I used to use Advanced Task Killer all the time, but I've since read on some Droid forums that you don't need to worry about killing apps all the time as the phone automatically keeps up and shuts things down as needed... these guys went so far as to say that rampant task killing can actually make your phone run slower.  So, I don't know... I still have it, but haven't used it in weeks and my phone's run just fine.

Others I use:
AK Notepad
Barcode Scanner (a MUST HAVE)
Calorie Counter
CamPainter Lite
Chess
Coin Flip
Color Flashlight (there are better flashlight programs out there than this)
Compass
Draw!
eBuddy (for using Windows Messenger)
FxCamera
Google Goggles
Google Sky Map (my favorite app)
Magic Marker
Mother TED (great to pass time while commuting)
Movies
Sports Tap (does live updates for NFL games, etc.)
Shazam (another must have app)
Throttle Copter
Ultrachron Lite
Word Up!
8=o tation

Okay, my list:

Abduction (currently preferred over Jewels)

Aldiko -- which has links to free and low-cost ebooks

Amazon -- basically just my wishlist/general search.  It's like the barcode scanner app, except it takes you to the related Amazon page for the item and gives you an option to add it to your wishlist.

last.fm so I can listen to gay nubbins' gay profile

The AP and BBC feeds

Cardiotrainer, so I can see where I was exactly when I got mugged during my lunchtime walks.

Causeworld, which seems to serve no purpose except to pretend that I'm helping the world.

Car locator, because I drive a black Japanese car like the rest of suburban Maryland.

DC Metro's app so I can see that the next train and bus are 89 minutes away because someone threw a banana peel on the ground and got arrested by Metro Swat.

Sky map

Newsrob for my Google Reader

Phoneflicks for Netflix

Weatherbug

Where's my Droid, which primarily exists for the NW to relentlessly prank me.

And several of the common ones mentioned in the above posts...
