From my friend "in the know" out in Cali... news of Id's NEW project called RAGE.  It's supposed to be an open-world, post-apocalypse shooter a la Mad Max.

It's due out for consoles and PC ... sometime.  This is what my buddy had to say about how ambitious Id's new engine is.

Supposedly.  The details are pretty sparse so far.  I'm just stoked that 1) it's a new Id title and 2) a NEW ID ENGINE.

I realize they just got bought out by Bethesda, but Id's game engines are legendary and I doubt that this one will be any different.

Found a trailer for it...although I'm not really sure if this is a racing game or maybe you can just race in it.

Nice find! 

Pretty cool... I just watched the HQ trailer and ya know... it just looks like a video game to me, really.  I'm not seeing what's so spectacular about it so far.  I'm definitely still interested, but the way my buddy made it sound, this game was being touted like it's part of the next generation.  To me it just looks like Fallout + Motor Storm + Doom.  I guess we'll have to wait and see.
