God...Shatner is so damn crazy. He spends the whole Takei doc denying that he knows Takei "in the strictest sense."

Holy shit... If you all haven't watched Going Clear, the expose on Scientology, then stop what you're doing and watch it now. It's streamed everywhere. It blew my mind...and filled me with horror and rage. This is a must watch doc.

I'll get right onto that, Xenu!
There will come a day for every man when he will relish the prospect of eating his own shit. That day has yet to come for me.

Watched it last night with Mrs. Sirharles.  Amazing and yes deeply horrifying.  They are the Illuminati.

So... The Space Invaders. Wow. Amazing.

Quote
Beginning with Space Invaders in 1978, arcade games began to appear everywhere. By 1982, there were 13,000 dedicated arcade locations across North America. It was the Golden Age of Arcade Games, generating $3.2 billion dollars in 1983. By 1985, revenue had fallen 97%. Atari declared bankruptcy. Arcades closed. Most of the old games were converted or destroyed. A few were packed into warehouses where they remained, largely forgotten, for at least another decade. This is the story of arcade video games, and the generation who grew up in the arcades attempting to collect and preserve their fondest memories.

For The Love of Spock -- Adam Nimoy's documentary about his father, his childhood, and...Spock -- is terrific and moving. Well worth it.

My Scientology Movie (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Scientology_Movie) sort of fails miserably. It's nothing that Going Clear hasn't already covered.

In fact, Going Clear was more effective and daring.

Meanwhile, the Netflix doc on (alleged) murderess Amanda Knox -- narrated and starring Amanda Knox herself -- is gripping and amazing.

Framing John DeLorean was not at all what I expected. A moody, fascinating study of the man's life, with lots of care and love given for his children and the people he impacted. Having been at the end of the shitstick as the child of a scandalous figure when being interviewed, I loved how they handled DeLorean's son and daughter. They gave them voice and power and respect.

This was a great watch in this era of documentary avalanche.
