King of Kong was just fantastic.

I try to catch his world record attempts. His E3 runs were fucking riveting. So much fun to watch.

Yes!  I also have a feeling that Billy probably isn't as much of a dick as the movie makes him out to be, but goddamn do you hate his guts by the end of that movie.

Other fantastic documentaries: Taxi to the Dark Side, Religulous, The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear, Supersize Me, Where in the World is Osama bin Laden?, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and two favorites above the rest for me: American Movie and This Film is Not Yet Rated

I hated Supersize Me for the same reason I've grown to hate Michael Moore films.  The movie starts out and Morgan's already decided that McDonald's is evil... the rest of the movie exists just to prove his point.  His girlfriend, from the outset, is pushing her vegan chef agenda and Morgan acts overly disgusted when he eats a Big Mac as if it's vomit on a bun... there's absolutely no attempt at objectivity in any part of the movie.

Same with Michael Moore.  Oh, the war in Iraq is evil and here, let me show you what it was like before the war with some scenes of people sipping coffee on a sidewalk in Baghdad while a kid flys a kite in the background ... see how great Iraq was before we stormed in a blew everything up?

I think it's unfortunate because I think both guys are intelligent and are taking on important topics with the films they make.  It's just too bad that their egos have to be a character in their movies because, more often than not, it spoils the whole experience for me, even when I agree with them.

I'd encourage to give Spurlock another chance with Where in the World is Osama bin Laden?. Michael Moore I love because I love that character, the everyman American just being like "wtf is wrong with everything?"

I'm torn on Where in the World.  Largely because he gave up when he was getting close.

But, then, he kind of had to give up, because it was the only sane thing to do.  So...I don't know.  It's essentially an entertaining failure.

I'd give Spurlock another chance based on select episodes of 30 Days, which was also a failure but didn't feature his wife turning to the camera and monotonously reading off Vegan recipes like some weird version of Hypnofrog.

I haven't watched Where in the World yet, but I have seen the preview and it seemed like a cool premise for a movie.  I'll add it to my list and check it out based on those recommendations.

I actually became a big Michael Moore fan after watching the Big One and his short-lived TV Nation show on Comedy Central.  I don't think I actually disliked him until I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 and my hatred of that movie was just in his lopsided delivery... I actually agreed with a lot of his message.  It was disappointing to me that he could have made a really great flick but instead chose to turn it into some huge assault on right wing America.

Control Room is excellent, too.

And American Movie!  How could I have forgotten that one?  Anvil: The Story of Anvil reminded me a lot of American Movie.

The Reich Underground:

http://www.netflix.com/Movie/The_Reich_Underground/70091640

A not very in depth (though still fascinating) exploration of the almost unending tunnels the Nazi's dug through the mountains of Germany and under most major cities.  Hundreds upon hundreds of miles worth of tunnels...some intended to house super-weapons like the V2, and the jet fighters, and the never-completed V3 and ICBM, US-target capable weapons.  Others intended to be a weird apocalyptic hideout for the Nazi elite, or just air raid shelters large enough to accommodate entire city populations.
