I swear we had a thread for this show around somewhere, but I can't find it for the life of me.  Wasn't Tyson really into this show or something?

I'm almost through season 1 and it is incredible.  Really good shit.  I am totally hooked so far.  Hopefully it won't take the all too typical Tour De Suck in season 2.

Nope Season 2 is just as good, if not better.  The actors really find their legs.  I've seen all 5 seasons and there isn't a bad episode.  If I remember correctly Season 2 is about the docks and unions which is fascinating.

Nice, that's good to hear.  I am definitely loving it... the characters and story arcs so far are really great.  If I'd only seen the first episode and you told me that Bubbles would wind up being one of the best characters, I'd never have believed it.  Go team heroin!

Oh, The Wire is amazing. I've raved about it before. The last season (which is actually less than a full season) is one of the best, I think. I wish they had finished the full 9 season arc that they supposedly had planned.

Ok, Omar testifying in season 2 was so good I actually rewound the scene to watch it a second time.  This show continues to blow me away.  I watched about 5 episodes front-to-back last night.

Yeah, he's like Robin Hood.  He may be a bad guy, but he adheres to a moral code which is what makes him admirable.

Fucking Ziggy though, Jesus.  I don't know how much more of that guy I can take.

so, just a general update also, HBO picked up the first season of "Treme" which is David Simon doing a drama about new orleans immediately after Hurricane Katrina with a lot of the same actors.  Bunk from the wire is going to be the lead character.  Should be really good.

Hell yes... I'll be all over that, for sure. 

Season 3 is pretty good so far, but not nearly as good as the second.  I think the whole political chicanery angle is just not as exciting as cops vs. gangs.  But, I understand why they're showing it... they need to point out that in the end, there really isn't as much of a difference between high rolling drug dealers and high rolling politicians as we might initially think.  So, it's still all good... just a little more boring is all. 

I love it that the ever-cool Stringer is finally starting to show some cracks too.  That shit with Dee was fucked up.
