Thread is now about ScarJo and how she's only going to get hotter as she moves through her 30s.

I think all women get hotter in their 30s.

So...she's not very hot in this movie.

Saw Lucy last night and enjoyed it.  Reggie is right though, it's weird.  And has no basis in actual science.  Some of the scenes reminded me of Natural Born Killers.

The very concept of "using 100% of your brain" is the "has no basis in actual science" giveaway if you made it past 6th grade. Even the nuns taught me that!

Even the science in everyday things that we know is true didn't make sense in this movie.  Skipping over the whole 100% thing.

I'm glad to hear that there was more to it than that! The commercials have all been the brain percentage thing, and they make me flinch. Being a veteran viewer of SyFy, I figured the worst...only with ScarJo at the helm instead of Michael Shanks! (Though I'm sure he'll be in an forthcoming Asylum/SYFy venture titled "101%".)

Looks like Sharknado 3 is on the way. July 2015. This time, Twitter will not only decide the title, but also the victim city. io9 is lobbying pretty heavily for DC.

Don't I have a review somewhere in this thread?

I looked and couldn't find it! But then I realized that I was searching for The Purge and gave up.

It's also The Crazies.

It hurt me.

Watching the sequel. The best part of these movies is how unprepared non-participants are for The Purge, even though it's well established that everyone is used to this and they've spent enormous amounts of money to secure themselves in their homes. But then -- you know -- they have to go out for milk 14 minutes before the Purge starts!

Maleficent was...okay! I kind of resented the whole "We bet you won't guess what this story is!" narration when they're, you know, telling a variation of a story that's been told to every single child on Earth from every race for the last 500 years. But... Okay!

Oh! Oh! Is it Sleeping Beauty?

Sssshhhh!!!! It's a NEW TWIST!! The twist is...it's not a twist!

Everyone sort of delivered, though. And it's pretty.

Weird. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it, but I would say watch it eventually.

I can't imagine Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers, I mean, Edge of Tomorrow is any good... and yet I'd totally watch it.

So...this was great. My only complaint is that they tried to downplay the Groundhog Day aspect, and they shouldn't have. We needed more "Tom Cruise gives up and punches people" in act two. But... This was great. Nacho says check it out.

I don't know if you guys have seen his eighteen minute video about the PG-13 rating going around, but it's really good.
