Oscar round-up:

Gravity -- clearly written by a child.

I am no longer a voice in the wilderness when it comes to disliking Gravity...

I really didn't like the last Muppets reboot. I think it missed the mark on many levels...

So then I justw atched the trailer for the second movie and...well, you win, reboot. You win.

So I have not seen Born in Flames. I'm proud to say that's the only one, though...

I've seen most of them. Born in Flames looks like a proto-Women's Studies.

Who knew the best thing I would read today would be the story of why Street Fighter tanked.

Lolz.
There will come a day for every man when he will relish the prospect of eating his own shit. That day has yet to come for me.

Saw Noah this weekend.  It was pretty good.  Some good special effects, but more a story about a mans unwavering faith.  And proof once again that you can cover Jennifer Connelly in dirt and she still looks good.

Is the campy actioner that I hope it is?

It's not actually.  I mean yes there's a little campy action.  Like how Noah who has gone out of his way to avoid other people his whole life apparently is also a skilled fighter and can kill three men quickly.

And there are some things that you roll your eyes to, but that's all movies.  The biggest problem I had with it was how the bad "sinners" had apparently mastered steel yet didn't ride horses, had no carts, and apparently didn't think "hmmm maybe building a boat of our own isn't such a bad idea".  But that's the nature of the story I suppose.

Horses were always very secondary until the Huns came on the scene.

I was hoping for it to be more like a sequel to the Scorpion King and less like a story of "unwavering faith."
