By the way...watching the Dexter finale now.  Since I put that on my giving up list in the first post.  I got very much back into it, and have been looking forward to the finale.

I haven't seen The Office special yet.  30 Rock just seemed disjointed and kind of all over the place.

This whole season for 30 Rock has been disjointed, really.

Makes sense I guess.  Fey's had her attention divided all over the place.

I'll confess -- I have such a crush on Tina Fey, I'm really just watching for her.

The only person that holds a candle to her is Amy Pohler.

Eleventh Hour

I thought this show was better than the UK version... But that doesn't stop it from being stupid, like the UK version, and intensely repetitive.

I've been following the Tor publishing blog, which has had a weird obsession for Eleventh Hour.

As the show has gotten worse, the blog reviews have just gotten funnier and funnier...

I stopped watching long ago and, every week, am stunned that the show is still on the air.

Okay... Putting Leverage on my personal Cancellation list.

Last season was just amazing, but this season feels like nobody involved really cares.  Maybe they fired the old writing staff and brought in a team of hamsters who select random words by spinning their wheels... Which also describes how every episode this season has felt like.

So screw it!

Burn Notice came dangerously close this season, as well, but they (once again) rebooted everything with the mid-season finale, so they eek by.

Looking back, Burn Notice has been rebooted about three times so far.  It's hardly the same show.

Meanwhile, on the flipside, Psych is putting in their best season yet and True Blood has rebounded from their mediocre first season into a season of more vamps and more bloodshed and more drama.

God, I hated the first season of True Blood.

Yeah, it was some rough shit.  Season two has a few of the same mistakes (namely the Tara/Michelle Forbes sub-plot, which makes me want to eat lightbulbs), but it also delves way deeper into vampire politics and, overall, is just better storytelling.

I take it back.  The long, horrible sub-plot was worth it because it led to a fuckign awesome episode 10.  And back to the more Vamp stuff and less stupid shit -- We get to meet the vamp Queen.

So give season two a chance, Nubbs.  No need to have completed season one.  Except for a few things (which don't matter), they made it pretty stand-alone.

Yeah, people are raving about Hung and it's got to be the worst thing on TV right now.

HBO is catering to those folks, though.  They dumped their epic period pieces and went the sit-com/goofball circuit.  Lowest Common.

They've all given up, really.  They've realized that saying "fuck" and showing tits is what most of the public wants.  The only good pay channel shows now are True Blood (if you're of the sort who can swallow it) and Dexter, which has quietly improved through the years... Though both those still follow a strict write-by-numbers formula.  True Blood scripts must read like a Hardy Boys novel, and Dexter is just reusing one single script each time with a find-replace on guest star names.
