I can't believe I'm enjoying House this season. I stopped watching around season 4, I think. I don't know. They've just been rehashing the same shit over and over, right? Is Cuddy gone for good?

I have no idea what's happening this season, really, except that he's in jail.

I'm trying really hard to avoid it. When I do ask for a nugget of info I want to run home and give it another chance. Because, like you, most people are enjoying this season.

But that's the trick with House, isn't it? Soft reboot every single season, and then end up with the same shit playing out. So you get these strong starts that devolve into boredom and end with a shoehorned "cliffhanger" (in terms of the Journey of House). But by the time you hit the skids, you've invested a third of the season or more and you start to think -- I'm going to tough it out! Just one more time!

Spoiler
He's not in jail anymore! Back to the hospital and back to the same goddamn shit.
So... Exactly what you said.

What I should do is just watch the first and last five episodes each season. Pretend it's a BBC drama. It'll probably blow me away.

I'll keep you posted on Terra Nova. I'll at least last the season I think.

Have you watched last night's episode yet? Don't speak too quickly.

Veep.

I gave it a chance because it's the crew from The Thick of It, and billed itself as an American version of that show... But it lacks sweary Scotsmen (or real swearing of any kind -- "fuck" is treated as a taboo word hauled out for shock value only), the raunchiness, and the wit.

In fact, episode two was nothing but toilet comedy a la Bridesmaids. Vomit and shit jokes, complete with Julia Louis Dreyfuss shitting herself in the street.

Incredibly disappointing.

Revolution.

And the Mentalist, Homeland, and Revenge are all flirting with personal cancellation.

Mentalist is just getting tired... Revenge has sort of blown its wad... Homeland has always been terrible, but now it seems more terrible. And Danes is wearing on me. We need more tits in this show.

Ugh. Okay. Revenge joins Revolution.

I'll carry through to the end of Homeland's current season...but then forget it, unless there's a real bang-up finale.

I'll keep with the Mentalist, as well, even though the only possible way for the show to make sense is if every single person on the planet is working for Red John...or Maybe Patrick's been in The Village all along.

I have to add The Mentalist. Because they're reduced to having Tupperware parties.

I should have added this show a season or two ago...

U-U-U-Update!

Veep is off the list. It's grown on me. Revolution I gave a second chance and IT. DOES. NOT. DESERVE. IT. But... I now have a weak spot for it. Off the list.

Staying on the list: Mentalist, True Blood, Homeland.

Adding to the list: Primeval, and all spinoffs.

Looking forward to the end: Dexter (jesus...)

Blacklist joins Agents of SHIELD.

Blacklist seems like it has tons of potential but doesn't know what to do with it.

Well...Continuum, I guess. Season two's multiple timelines/multiple characters from those timelines in one timeline is so ridiculous I don't know where to begin. I *think* everyone's dead and replaced by their alternate versions at this point... And we can't be sure, but their alternate versions may be generally evil and unlikable. Either way, everyone knows what's happening so... Oh, forget it.

I have such a blindspot when it comes to these esoteric Canadian sci-fi shows. I had the same problem with Charlie Jade. It's like Canada is happy to fund the most experimental and challenging sci-fi ever made, and somehow manages to import these shows to major US networks, who then blindly air them no matter what happens.
