if we're going to move past this, it's going to have to be from the top. obama's gonna have to look us all in the eye and say "we need to fucking work together, people!" and then start leading by example. even if it's a big majority in the senate. plus, really, what better chance to get your way than to reach out to a dying republican party, pick and choose your teammates, and get ahead of the curve when the whole Republican party goes centrist and shakes off the evangelical right-wing nuts in 2 years? it's a phenomenal opportunity, and i hope Obama doesn't go 1992 Clinton on them and just shove a bunch of programs down everyone's throat.
