a co-worker from pg-county said he early voted today.  Said it took 2.5 hours to stand in line, fill out an absentee ballot, put it in an envelope and hand it to the person.  Apparently they've set up areas (in PG) where you can request and use an absentee ballot bypassing the waiting and mailing.

The dude had a big grin on his face, and he seemed lighter than normal.  He said he was very, so very happy that he had voted.  Happy that it was over, and that he had no more worries.  But I'm sure he felt fucking awesome mostly about having voted for Obama.

However, I'm not watching Obama's half hour "Watch Me Masturbate Halloween Special" because if I do I'll kick my TV in.

Obama's special really should just be him, propping up his feet in a mock-up of the Oval Office, smoking a stogy, just smiling and laughing at the camera, for about a half hour. Or it could be a half-hour special hosted by Obama highlighting the Youtube ads that people have made for him. Keep the stogy though.

You know, I just learned about this (or, rather, decided to process the information) today!  And my first reaction was, wait, is he going to step down or something?  Why the fuck bother?  What the fuck sort of politics is this where some uber-rich monster buys a half hour of prime time television at EVERY MAJOR NETWORK and talks to us without answering questions from his opponent or his constituents?

I love the CNN map highlighting the battleground states...

Montana!  North Dakota!  Missouri!  Indiana!  Ohio!  North Carolina!  Florida!

So the theme for this election is to have the most inconsequential battleground states.  Isn't North Dakota part of Canada?  Isn't it, like, sealed off from the rest of the country by snow ten months of the year?
