oh, no. There's a way in IE you can search with nearly any search engine, plug in the URL for the engine with a test search, and then IE installs the search engine for you. It's really good.
Chrome is beta and doesn't have any plugins yet. It's incompatible with a few, rare sites. But it is damn promising. (It's the browser I use when in Windows on my computer.) Firefox is fine.
More than one homepage in FF:Options-->Main-->Under Homepage click "Use current pages" when you have your browser the way you wish to start.I also use the "show my windows and tabs from last time"...it's about 7.9 million times better than IE's stupid "Do you want to open these tabs next time?"
Wait, you mean in Chrome, where you go wrench-icon->options->basics tab and it's the first option where you have three choices: use current page(s) / use home page / restore last open tabs?
