So, Matthew is gearing up to wallop Charleston. "Worst hurricane in 52 years" was a headline I saw.
Strongest and most persistent since 1964. A million people have been evacuated from the Florida and Carolina coasts. Apocalyptic wasteland for those left behind...some stunning photos, really. Though NOAA says it'll blow itself out and hit the coastline at a Cat 2, maybe a Cat 3. So no biggie for the US. Also expected to bounce away and give the Mid-Atlantic a miss.
Poor Haiti, though.
There's another one forming right behind Matthew, so that'll be fun.
