So, Let's say...

(1/1)

Cassander:
Obama wins the nomination.  And I've grown from skeptic to, well, still somewhat skeptical about the messianic aspects of his characterizations, but still feel Very Strongly that Obama should be the next president.  Can I get involved in his campaign as a volunteer and not expect to be drafted into phone calls/mindless fliering, etc.  Can I help the effort in a meaningful way?  Haven't even looked at the website yet, but has my renewed idealism overpowered my realistic tendencies?  Louisiana is classified as a red state.  Despite that fact that New Orleans proper will undoubtedly go for Obama, there are 3 million other LA residents who can overwhelm that.  Will I be signed up to just preach to the choir, or is there such a thing as intra-state campaign volunteers?

Or should I just buy this t-shirt?

nacho:
Volunteering is almost always phone calls, door to door, and envelope stuffing unless you have some special skills (web design, accounting, etc).  You will have the option of where, though.
