Grand Theft Auto IV is the masterpiece of our time

I'm a big fan of radio stations in games ever since Bloodlines.  I exported those MP3's out and listen to them on occasion... Wish we had a late night show as cool as that one.  "The Deb of Night."

Check out that radio link I posted on the previous page and see if you aren't laughing your ass off, Nubs. Literally, last night I found myself sitting in a car listening to a radio instead of my mission because I was so interested in what was going on in the show.

Of course, also that night, I shot up a car and it started on fire so I ran away as another car drove right into it. The explosion happens and next thing I see is this flaming body crawling away from the wreckage…

A good fall for the PC!  Spore, GTAIV.  Yay.

Also IGN gave this game a 10 out of 10... it's only the second time they've ever rated a game so highly.  The last game to get a 10 was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Gamecube.

Also it's fun as shit, but okay.

So Nico (the main character) steals a truck full of crack or meth or something, after blowing away all the guys that stood in his way. You have to then fight your way to the front of the truck to hijack it, climbing on the sides and rolling and holding on to the top and it’s a fun little mini-game, Nico’s complaining about how hard it is, the driver keeps making turns and you keep falling off the roof and having to climb back up… But I crawl to the front of the truck, then the cutscene animation starts. Nico then jumps, smashing the passenger-side glass in, yells “I have some complaints about your driving!”, shoots the driver in the face with the guy’s own gun, then kicks him out the door. It was awesome.

How is the A.I.?  I've heard people hold onto cars and stuff and that the physics in the game are second to none.

As an example: in the game you have safehouses and you have space in front of your safehouse to park cars that will save from game to game; if you have a car you particularly like, you can just park it there. I had parked a sports car that was particularly good for races in front of one of my houses.

Load up a new game... walk outside, and hijack a car. A cop sees me, so they turn on their sirens and drive after me, but they end up crashing into my sports car and pushing it off the saved-space area. So I have to get out of my hijacked car (because I wasn't going to lose that car) and park the sports car back in the spot, all the while running from the cops. So I do that, then hop back in my car. But what the cop does is hop into my sports car and start to drive after me, so I had to run back and get out again just so I could once again, park my car in that safe spot. It was hilarious and frustrating at the same time.
