Without getting into spoilers, I enjoyed it immensely. It's tawdry in the way a lot of Lifetime movie are, but one should have an idea of what one is watching. While much liberty is taken with social mores, specifically Lizzie's outwardly rebellious nature, I was shocked by how much they stuck to the accepted facts. When they did alter something for dramatic license, it was usually just to simplify rather than dramatize. (There's one glaring exception, but I let that pass too.)
This might be a spoiler if you've never heard of Lizzie Borden, but the movie's biggest weakness is
Spoiler
never even trying to convince you otherwise that Lizzie did it. A lot could be made of trying to spin out a few of the non-Lizzie theories.
It's good, and the reveal/moment at the end should have been sullied by all the flash cuts to it they peppered throughout the movie, but it was still creepy cool.
I liked it, but I'm obsessed.
