I had high hopes for the show, but it just went down, down, down into shit.

Stop re-watching it, Matt.  Move on.  Breaking Bad season three started tonight.  You should be re-watching those!

I am watching Rescue Me now for the first time.  I just made it through season 1 and got stuck about 3 episodes into season 2.  I really want to like it and it's definitely got its moments, but every once in a while you step back and see a house with 2 old fat guys and a midget living with an abusive, alcoholic firefighter and it's like... this is just absurd.

I really want to like it, though.  If it gets worse going into season 3 and 4, then I probably won't make it that far.  I have such a crush on Dianne Farr, though, it's not even funny.

If you want to see her way more sexier in a way sexier show go watch Californication. I share your love for her slightly man-ish looks. I guess before when I watched I was way more into it but now I just see Lou as a lazy fuck-up who ignored his chance at freedom from his loser wife, the Chief as a homophobic asshole, etc.

Season 5 is a vast improvement over Season 3 and especially Season 4. The characters are finally starting to get their shit together as opposed to flying out of control all the time.

Rescue Me is a lot easier to watch if you have a buddy or two to watch it with as a kind of guy event.  then you sort of gloss over a lot of the shit.  I can't remember the seasons specifically anymore, but the one with Jesus is the first one I watched, which got me kind of hooked.  The one after that, as I remember, was pretty good.  But when susan Sarandon shows up, it's time to lock the doors and go home.
