Given that I almost fell over twice coming up from the lobby to the apartment this afternoon, I might need one.  My inner ear on the right side is whacked. So I'm permanently off balance until everything pops back.

I had a friend who lost hearing in her left ear at age twenty-five and it fucked her up for months. She was always falling and dropping shit until she learned how to work with her new equilibrium.

Yeah, so, by the time I get used to this shit, it'll go back to normal and I'll freak out.

It's weird that hearing is connected to balance. There has to be some wikipedia article on that.

Anyway, we'll bring the wheelchair if it means you'll come to the screening.

You have some sort of ooey gooey liquid in your ears that gives you your balance. My loss of hearing is injury-related, essentially.  They joggled everything around to get to the trigeminal nerve.  So everything needs to just settle down back there.

My balance is fine and always has been. Hmm. I wonder if that's, like, a good thing. Because the "nerve damage" thing my doctor has thrown at me whenever I ask about surgery is getting kind of annoying.

This fall will be my happy fun surgery season. Anyone else want in on the invasive head surgery bandwagon?

No thanks, I'll leave that to you experts.  In my life I've had seven stitches.  Modern medicine has saved my ass at least twice but I've never had surgery, thank the Goddess.

Kick-off is at 7:30pm EST tonight.

I'm waiting for my folks at the kick-off to call in with my genre, prop, character, and line of dialogue.

RC: What's your genre?

from
http://www.48hourfilm.com/dc/

Quote
Elements
Character:    Roosevelt or Rosie Adams, President (of any group, organization, country, etc., of team’s choice)
Prop:    Bracelet
Line of Dialogue:    "That’s what I’m talking about."

I think it'd be funny if you also include a fire extinguisher.

We'll get the Monday freakout report.

Come up here on Monday, RC.  We'll talk about the previous 48 hours, drink and watch the world from my balcony.
