just got it from our mutual friends.  if i start now, at 2:30 central, will i be forced to consume it all until dawn?  because i only have so much of my girlfriend's wine to go.

sub-query: if your girlfriend passes out, are you entitled to all of her booze if you live together?  technically, it's my name on the lease.

got through episode one and half of two before i felt this overwhelming urge to brush my teeth.  then that led to me getting in bed.  jury's still out, but it is well produced.  maybe it's from going through the past 5 years of zombie revival, but i'm finally at that point where i'm think that fictional characters giving zombies the benefit of the doubt for about 5 minutes before they decide to run and hide is just ludicrous.  "wow, some weird guy is eating someone else.  maybe i should call for help.  oh, wait, there's 20 of these people.  must be some weird terrorist cell.  oh, wait, it's happening all over the country.  i wonder if gina knows about this."

The only ones who were slow on the uptake were the Big Brother idiots.  Our main girl figured it out right away (thanks to the TV).  So did the producer and gun-happy girl.

It helps, perhaps, to understand the British Big Brother obsession.  That damn show has a dedicated 24/7 cable channel.  It's deeply insane.  People are slack-jawed, vacant-eyed, job/house/wife-losing fanatics of the show.

So, for example, it's a moment for intellectuals to stand up and cheer when Davina McCall gets it.

It's the national addiction.

Sunday roast, sadly, is dying in the face of American culture.

WATCH SCREENWIPE!

If you don't watch Screenwipe, then you're an idiot.  If you have any interest at all in British culture, and television, and haven't been watching Screenwipe...you need to go hang yourself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenwipe

And Tyson's thread:  http://www.greatsociety.org/forums/index.php/topic,2458.0.html

So, to make sure that you have no excuses, I'll be posting season five via Sendspace.  Just to whet your appetite, he hatefully calls Obama "Jesus Hussein Christ" right before he even gets to the theme of the episode.  That's our Brooker!

Here's episode one:

At the very least you'll spend tomorrow calling everyone fetuses or piss weasels.

My problem with Brooker is that the more he tears a show apart, the more I want to watch it.  In episode one he attacks the hideous Britannia High.  He's right on the mark...but tell me that you aren't curious by the time he's finished his bit.

He also kind of tears apart Dead Set.  Nothing is sacred.

Episode two.  Brooker attacks TV advertising.  Yikes.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/v1xw2n

This is classic Screenwipe so, if you hated the first episode I posted, give this a try.  He always starts the seasons kind of scattered, then focuses on themes.  The detailed, behind the scenes look at TV ads is fascinating, horrifying, and hilarious.

(It's actually just an excuse for him to masturbate all over Mad Men.)

The third one will go up tonight when I get home.

It's a special episode dedicated to writers.

Quote
Brooker is joined by the writers behind Doctor Who, Father Ted, Peep Show and many more.

Oh...episode three is a full hour, too big for sendspace.  Is there a site that can take up to 350 megs?
