So, after getting a ton of shit dealt with today, it's time to settle down for the three-part Lost finale and three hours of Dr. Who, all missed while I was drinking booze from the trunk of my friend's car and taking anonymous landscape photos in Ireland.

I like how the first five minutes of the Lost Freakout Revival is just about all I need to get a big old French Para tattoo bulldog chubby.

The problem, of course, is that I don't want to go on.  There's this shaky little desire to wait until season two starts up before I do the finale thing because I just know they're going to pull a Twin Peaks finale on us.  Agent Cooper gets shot, roll credits, wait three months in a numbed daze...only to discover that Everything's Okay(tm) and All The Writers Have Been Fired And Replaced With Ferns.

That's my great fear with Lost.  What's the plan for season two?  Because, really, they can't carry on the Gilligan's Island in Hell routine, can they?  And since they're following the same spiritual path that Twin Peaks did (The Hatch = The Lodge), I have a concern.  Lost, I worry, is going to make clear the fact that American TV can't hold on, despite brilliant ideas, because it's really hard for a room full of overworked writers to stretch out a strict storyline dreamed up by a director/producer schoolboy and make it last for 24 episodes without stumbling, blowing their wad or, god forbid, having to carry it into another season and keep it original.

Meanwhile, Dr. Who's glory hits so hard they got renewed for a third season... Before the first season's finale (this Saturday) has even hit the tube.  They got their second season after the overwhelming response to the first episode.  That's a real Cinderella story, there.  27 years on the air, self destruct in flame and despair, re-emerge 15 years later and...bang. They're getting renewed for a third season before any of the second season episodes have even been planned.

And the real thing that's making my fingers twitch -- the July 15th Galactica season two launch.  Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie.

...or they could just start a whole new storyline and a few more complicated subplots and beautifully set up the second season.

That was nice.  Now -- Dr. Who!

I've deiced that when I'm an old used up invalid, I'll catch up on all these great TV shows I'm mssing out on while I'm out doing other shit. Though, it's all I can do to keep from getting all the episodes of Lost and watching them before Season Two cranks up.

I hear Northern Exposure is a good show.
