That's too much bother to read.
There will come a day for every man when he will relish the prospect of eating his own shit. That day has yet to come for me.

Caught an episode of this over Thanksgiving when I was at Pops' place.  He watches this show a lot... I was really impressed.  Very good TV.  I think it was the episode where a shrink was getting his patients to commit suicide or something... good stuff.

Is the show normally pretty violent?  I was expecting it to make me squeamish, but it didn't.

You get a CSI-style murder in each episode, which is Dex's job (blood forensics). He also gets to kill someone (though not in each episode) but, otherwise, not very violent.  And those murders are cut-aways (or crime scenes).

So season two...much better than the first.  Four episodes in.  Am I the only one watching?

I'll just weigh in again, as we approach the finale, that season two is about 100 times better than the first season...and might just be in the running for best show out there right now.

Haha...didn't bother to update last season, which was one of the best.  The first episode of season four is up now (a pre-air) and it's great!  John Lithgow is the Big Bad this season... Really weird seeing him do serial killer...

Haha!  Okay, so, you can watch this and say that you've religiously followed the last five seasons even to the most diehard fan. Try it and see!

Seasons four and five of Dexter were terrible. I quit watching halfway through season five and moved it to my "personal cancellation" file. But, last month, the creators came out and actually apologized for the last two seasons, and said they were going to get back to basics in season six and, pretty much, begged everyone to give the show another chance.

So I did. And it's fun to see that not having watched most of season five doesn't hurt this season at all. We get a recap of the last five seasons, and then we launch right into a fresh, new season with no ties to the past. It's a weird breed of soft reboot.

Episode one was fun. Mainly because Edward Olmos is the big bad this season. That, alone, might keep me watching.

So...we'll see. The premiere is better than the last two years combined, though.

Well, two episodes in. And they have sort of gone back to basics. I especially like how the last two seasons basically didn't happen.  They haven't been retconned...they just don't matter.

Which, for anyone who sat through them, I think would be defeating. But...whatever...

“Dexter” executive producer Sara Colleton tells TV Guide:

We wanted to end it this year, but the network convinced us that it would be best to do it in two years. In some ways, this is a two-season series-ender. We have worked that out and know where it's going to end. Next year will definitely be the last year of Dexter. Absolutely.

Thank god. And maybe now the show will have some sort of cohesion.
