Posted Sept. 13, 2006 – Former NAACP head Kweisi Mfume is trailing in his bid to become the second African American in the U.S. Senate but election day chaos at the polls in his home state of Maryland, including the key city of Baltimore, means election results might not be final for several days.
Whoever wins the Democratic nomination will face Republican Michael Steele, who also is African American, in the November general election.

Maybe they mean, like, in the current senate...?
Tatertots:
Probably current Senate. Their wording could have been clearer, though.

All TV news is entertainment and propaganda. I don't expect that BET funds its news desk very well.

Public schools need better funding.
Tatertots:
Actually, many schools these days are plenty well funded. It's the political bullshit that saps away all the money. The standardized tests that force teachers to teach memorization instead of creativity and original thinking. Both my parents are teachers, but it's not really teaching. It's getting ass-raped by the government, yelled at by moron parents, and sometimes squeezing some intelligent thought in between.
