Queen of the Damned

With the character of Judith, I fully acknowledge the archetype (stereotype?) of the "Bad Witch," a woman of power who due to some negative emotion, uses her powers for ill instead of good. The Evil Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the Evil Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, both consumed by jealousy, come to mind. (Also, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and a list of any other Grimm's fairy tale which describes a cruel matriarch.) The ultimate expression of the "Bad Witch"...Wizard of Oz.

I wonder if that list of witches in our culture will give any irrationally angry feminists any pause before/whilst attacking you for putting women in a bad light.

To be honest, I'm actually more concerned about offending Wiccans than I am feminists at this point. Wiccans are already persecuted enough.

Fair point, but I hadn't yet heard any accusations that you're making a witchsploitation movie but we have heard from a few irrationally angry faminists.

I think (hope?) the feminists who get really offended will be few and far between. I can't see too many women getting bent out of shape about a film that touches on social and political issues, and in which 90% of the characters are female who speak and act (mostly) intelligently.

It because it deals with a specific social/political movement that a few people are getting bent out of shape.

Oh, no worries there.

Creatively, I'm trying to please myself. For my investors, our target audience is males 18 - 35, with the hope that the film will also appeal to women of the same age group.

That's what happens when you incorporate. You talk like that.
