Now with Long Way Down stuff on page two.

9/16/08 -- By Any Means on page three.

Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman set off with veteran cameraman Claudio for a journey from London to New York...the long way around.

20,000 miles, 115 days, 12 countries.

Even with modern equipment -- GPS, satellite phones and a support team never more than a few hundred miles away -- Ewan, Charley and Claudio are driven to the breaking point as they take on the impossible (and so is the support team!).

A must see for anyone who enjoys adventure traveling, or if you're a motorcycle enthusiast.

Once episode one gets another seed, I'll put up episode two.  Seven in total.  These are TV rips from Sky TV in the UK, but they're good quality.  DVD is not released in the US.

Oh!  So cool!  If you're a fan of this, you should check out Faster, the MotoGP documentary narrated by Ewan... one of the best sports documentaries ever made... a MUST SEE!  :)

People were telling me I was a retard, or they didn't like it, or they didn't have the attention span to watch it.  I'll get back on episode two and seed, then.

edit: episode three and four will be up in a few minutes.  So you can just hop on the next when you're done.  Seven total.  If we have time before I leave, we'll do John Safran vs. God, which will also inspire you.  Though you might be more a John Safran's Music Jamboree guy... We'll see.

The guy's way out there.

Love the path Long Way Roung takes though... Harder and harder.  It's inspired me to do the same, though.  Bike across Mongolia?  Sure!

That's the book that inspired Long Way Around, and it's insane.  Basically, Simon says the same thing you just did -- "I have a new mission!"  He takes off six months, heads out all happy... Four years later, he completes his trip ranting to himself that he had become a god, screaming at random people, worshiping trees and attacking invisible hobgoblins.

Simon has a long series of self published books, not all of them on Amazon, and now wanders the world writing them (Ewan and Charley meet him in the far outskirts of Mongolia or Russia in a later episode).  Simon does this because, as his second book discussed, when he got back and recovered from his four year round the world stint, he just couldn't cope.  He went back to normal life and, within a year, he was horrified... The job, the apartment, his old friends, America.

Anyway -- let's go!  The two of us.  Assuming I'm still speaking to you in September, you cunt!  Oh, and we should have an off-roader who knows what he's doing like Charley Boorman... Except Charley's over-emotional, quick to anger and, well, NOBODY can handle trekking across Mongolia.  The SAS couldn't successfully bike across Mongolia even if they had helicopter support.  And I have a crippling nerve injury that couldn't stand the pressure.  And...
