What have you been putting your perks into? By sticking to one type of armor and weapon (and focusing on shield) I've gotten those skills pretty well up.

Also, tigers and bears are no joke.

And, I haven't really found amazing armor either. I'm still using my original Imperial helmet. It's smithed up to Epic and enchanted with some magic, but even at low levels of smithing you can have pretty nice armor.

I leaned heavily on two-hand for ahwile, because I had this kickass glass greatsword and Molag Bal's Mace. But now I'm leaning on the Blade of Woe (since it levels up with you, if you're DB), so one-hand is on the rise. And, of course, the always favored restoration skill.

I've also been trying to focus on lockpicking and light armor (since, again, I'm wearing the DB ancient shrouded armor).

I've ignored smithing and alchemy...   mainly because it came so naturally in Oblivion. I guess I'm having a hard time realizing that, now, you actually have to pay attention and master shit as opposed to buying 100 hammers and stealing a mega alchemy set and killing time when you're bored.

It just feels like I've hit level 21 and I'm a sad joke who gets raped repeatedly by dungeon bosses while my companions cower in a corner and/or muse about the weather.

Then, limping around outside, three bears lunge out from behind rocks and just hammer me down like a whack-a-mole.

I've also managed to perma-kill all the companions I like, thanks to my tactic where I run away and leave them stranded somewhere fighting a clan of master vampires.

I'm at level 47 and holding...it's taking forever to level up.  When I started I focused mainly on smithing and one handed weapons.  Now I've got the Daedric Armor with enchantments and I'm pretty much invincible.  The best way to quickly level up your smithing is to go to the Dwemer Ruins.  Once you have cleared it, there is A TON of stuff you can melt down and make armor, weapons etc with.  This was the single biggest contributor to me leveling up and getting 100 smithing.

Oh shit! You mean you can use all that crap in the Dwemer ruins? Jesus... That may have just changed everything for me.

Also, if you want to boost your smithing, buy all the ingots from the smiths in whiterun and make armor. Steel plate or iron armor are a good return on your materials and will shoot you up in skill.

Bethesda announced today that they are putting Skyrim to bed and moving on to the next big project... Exciting news in itself, but doubly exciting for me.

I hate the DLC culture, so I've sort of been sitting around waiting for Bethesda to finish with Skyrim so that I can go get the full game, DLC's and updates and the best mods, and then start over.

Which...I'll start doing tonight. GOODBYE WORLD!!

Well...it took me awhile. I heard rumors about a big sort of collection and waited... And, now, the Legendary Edition! Which has all the DLC and patches to date.

Started it up last night and it was great. So, in the 3.7 spare minutes I have each day, I'll be in Skyrim!

I found Fallout to be beautiful and fun...but ultimately far too linear and skewed towards being "good." I think I complained about this years ago in the thread...

That said, I have great faith in Bethesda. So, after Fallout 4 is released, I'll be glad to play it in two years after the $100 of DLCs and patches are released and combined into "Fallout 4: Super Collection" for $50.
