Oh, no way. I'm just making a point.

Mostly, I left MySpace because my ex was leaving 50 dumbass messages a day on it (and this is back when MySpace was incredibly slow and overloaded). I just jumped on the anti-MySpace bandwagon when it came by for shits and giggles.

It seems the original Star Trek may be getting the George Lucas upgraded special effects treatment.

Which means you should buy the season sets now. Especially since they just massively lowered the price on them.

Honestly, though -- upgrading the effects?  It'd be easier to just refilm them with new actors.

So, today marks the 40th anniversary since the premiere of Star Trek.

Live long and prosper.

Quote
http://www.trekmovie.com reports that an animated series was recently pitched by David Rossi, a “production associate” on “The Next Generation,” and “Voyager” who was eventually promoted to non-writing associate producer on “Enterprise.”

It’s set in Starfleet 150 years after “Star Trek: Nemesis.”

Yeah, I've seen them all.  It's horrible.  It's like the remastered Dr. Who episodes:

Scene:  Beautiful, high-quality space station.

Cut-to:  Cardboard corridor, polyester suits, and monster outfit with zipper.

So the trades are confirming the long standing rumor that J.J Abrams will be directing the new Star Trek movie.

Apparently the plot revolves around the enterprise crashing on an island. Zulu gets kidnapped by these mysterious "others" while Spock and McCoy discover this weird "hatch."

The movie is rumored to have a fast paced first hour, then nothing happens until the last 15 minutes.

You're right, except for the first hour thing.

and the last fifteen minutes.  Unless you count emotional feelgood PC bonding around a campfire.

We'll see how Abrams handles the required 72 minute Enterprise-in-slow-flight sequence.
